Byron Bay is 15 mins drive away, beautiful Shelly Beach a 2 minute stroll away and Ballina town centre is only a few minutes drive down the road.
 
For eating out - close by is the Shelly Beach Cafe, right on the beach - 5 mins walk and good for breakfast and lunch
 
There is a fast food and convenience store on Shelly Beach road - a little further away is the Shaws Bay Hotel - good for lunch and dinner beside the water or just a drink - it is a popular local spot and gets quite busy weekend nights
 
A little more upmarket is Nautilus Bar & Grill in the Ballina Beach Resort - and a few others close by - the area is pretty much undeveloped commercially which is one of its many charms.
